I’ve been meaning to start posting at least some token trifle of the Day stuff again for a bit, because there are far too many amusing things in this world, and I find a desire to at least feel like I’m sharing them with others outside of Gtalk. I’ve however found myself rather busy and frustrated with work-related technical issues several times this week, so it’s taken me until today. A reddit post and its accompanying comment thread provided entirely too many amusing moments for me to let it drift by again. Also, I can annoy people on Facebook now too.

As I said, most of you won’t care about this.

Nothing serious, don’t freak, just kind of a bummer.

So, not in the mood to write stuff.  Since it’s already Thursday, I decided, screw it.  I’ll just take the week off, other than the post on hacking Carrier for the Yahoo change.

Edit: Wow.  25 minutes to get the idiocy fixed.  @hate WP 2.7.1 upgrade.  I really need to get with James sometime and rip this theme to bits and get things changed so that I can get it to work with the 3 column layout I want with dynamic width.

Eventually, I just went for the blunt approach and deleted the bloody theme. Oh, THEN everything starting working properly. Now after some tweaking with the css a little (hastily, this thing’s master css is complicated) it’s got tolerable colors. Not the final ones, by any means, but it’s good enough to actually use now for a bit. As I texted to a friend today, I might actually start posting again now – rather than messing with the theme.

I’ve only just barely begun to customize the theme here.  I’d like, in time, to get back to something at least vaguely resembling the yggdrasil.net of old.

None of the content, posts, comments, or anything like that of the last two revisions of the site are lost.  They’re all saved away on my hard drive, and I’ll soon make external backups of them as well.  I made some very basic attempts to import the e107 posts into Wordpress, but it wasn’t working very well, so I just decided it wasn’t that important.  I don’t think there was much of merit that I had to say on any of those posts anyway.
